This is very important for all the living corals, fish and inverts in your aquarium so they can stay healthy in your aquarium and not just survive, but thrive!. Changing your bulbs will ensure that your aquarium inhabitants get the proper light spectrum for optimal growth and health. It will also help prevent those nuisance algae blooms that can happen in your aquarium from forgetting to change the aquarium lights on schedule. Fluorescent lights should be changed every eight to twelve months and metal halides every twelve to fourteen months. Keep in mind that this is based on having an eight to twelve hour light cycle.
