Foods and vitamins

It is always important to alternate the things you are feeding to ensure your fish are getting a balanced diet. There are many great quality foods and vitamins on the market to help your fish remain in optimal health. ( Eg. PE mysis shrimp, omega and algae enhanced brine shrimp, vita chem and selcon to name a few) Regular brine shrimp without any enhancements isn't very nutritious ( comparable to us eating fast food every day) and should be left for a treat only.There are also many foods out there that can great colour enhancers ( cyclopeeze, fish solution) Making sure your fish are getting everything they need will ensure a long life and great coloration.

Hippopus' (Bear's Paw) Clam's are one of the easiest to keep. They are large, easy to acclimate, require less lighting than Crocea or Maxima Clam's, but still have fantastic colours!

Nano Aquariums

Nano aquariums are gaining popularity among more and more people. It is now possible to keep species in tanks much smaller than once previously thought such as anemones and gorgonians. Many of the new nano aquariums available now have a fully built in filtration system and lighting all in one unit making them a aesthetic piece of furniture that needs nothing more than a heater to be complete. Breakthroughs in technology have allowed different lighting  ( LED, Metal halide and T5) to be incorporated to grow anything from the oceans in your own home. Nano aquariums do require some special care as they usually have a much smaller water volume enabling them to become nutrient bound more easily. A good maintenance schedule with proper water changes are required.

EcoBAK ULNS Pellets
- are a unique and revolutionary probiotic product that will change the way marine and reef aquariums are maintained. EcoBAK is a biodegradable polymer that serves as a stable and consistent organic Carbon food source and substrate for bacterial strains that consume organic compounds including Phosphate and Nitrate. In effect, ecoBAK reduces nuisance algae, clarifies water and supplies Planktonic bacteria as a food source for corals in the reef aquarium. EcoBAK works naturally, with NO harmful chemical additives.

The ecoBAK system requires the use of a properly sized and efficient protein skimmer to export the additional waste products produced as the ecoBAK cleans the aquarium. Ecobak should be used in a fluidized media reactor with the output directed into the same area as the protein skimmer intake.
